The family is a caring unit that increases our confidence, gives us security and makes us feel loved. But raising children, following a career path, and working with our partner can be challenging, and it is normal to feel that it is all too difficult, and we need help. I am here to listen and help you grow together as a family and enjoy healthy relationships.
I use a combination of the following methods based on clients’ needs:
- Post Modernism and Narrative Therapy where I believe that every family is special. One rule does not apply to everyone. I assist clients to understand their family functioning, beliefs and communication cycles as a story they have created about their family. Then I encourage them to them to see their story from a different and more positive perspective.
- Experimental Family Therapy where I work with clients to express deep emotions that help to improve their relationships, their personal growth, and self-actualisation. Clients learn to use congruent communication for the problem to stop.
- Strategic Family Therapy where I work to improve the interactions and behaviour of a family member to improve the way the family functions. This method is especially useful with families with children and adolescences with behavioural issues.
- Structural Family Therapy where I test the rigidness of the personal boundaries of family members, and I empower the parents to set clear boundaries. I use Structural Family Therapy to assess and improve interactions and communications between family members and to provide rules that improve the family functioning.
- Bowenian Family Therapy where I analyse the emotional patterns in a family which has been inherited patterns from past generations. I ask family members to talk to me directly instead of each other, which encourages individuals to listen rather than respond emotionally. I assist my clients to increase their self-esteem, take responsibility for their emotions and use a method of communication that reduces emotional reaction and promotes collaboration.
